This song was written to the memory of a brave Lamont girl who in June of 1646, walked past her enemy with a "parchment of safe passage" that had been given to her Clan Chief, [her brother) concealed in her long hair. Her friends and family were murdered before her eyes. She was left on the beach to starve along with here sister-in-law and nephews.

For thirteen years she sought justice. This parchment and her testimony, along with other Highland Clans, and the Clan Campbell themselves, brought about the trial of the Clan Campbell Chief and the eventual death of the Marquee of Argyll.
